Early Saturday meeting in London, downstairs at Le Pain almost completely empty. Are mugs/cups without handles a good thing? We had a divided opinion between us Love the tea, coffee, free WIFI and brick arched ceiling. Le Pain Quotidien, Festival Terrace, Southbank, London.

Can’t begin to tell you how pleased we are to have found this place. Short walk from Victoria station, there aren’t many tables (cosy) but the food, tea and coffee are superb. Huge blackboard menu behind, freshly baked cakes – can recommend the carrot cake and if you’re feeling daring, try the parsnip cake. Pimlico Fresh, Wilton Road, London, UK.
